Kristen is a certified Child Life Specialist and has experience working in a variety of healthcare settings. Currently, she works as a per diem child life specialist at Elliot Hospital in Manchester, New Hampshire. In this position, she works with patients and families on the pediatric inpatient unit, the emergency department, and outpatient clinics as well as with children of adult patients.
Kristen has supported patients and families through invasive and painful procedures, new diagnoses, chronic and acute illnesses, and end of life and bereavement support. She is well experienced with supporting patients and siblings through the illness journey, advocating for patients and families in the healthcare environment, partnering with schools and community agencies and implementing and facilitating support groups for grieving children and grieving parents. Kristen earned a Bachelor of Arts in Child Development from The University of Connecticut and a Master of Science in Child Life and Family Centered Care from Wheelock College. She is also a certified playmaker through The Life is Good Playmakers Foundation.
