Professional statement
With a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Education, along with a Professional Certificate in School Psychology, Gerry’s training in psychoeducational testing, behavior analysis, and counseling met with the challenge of learning Special Education laws, regulations, and procedures when he worked as a Staffing Specialist/Compliance Officer. These combined skills and experiences led him to law school, and upon earning his Juris Doctorate in 2004, he set out to advocate for special needs children seeking the educational and related services to which they are entitled. Gerry has practiced Marital and Family Law since 2007.
In marital and family law cases, Gerry’s background in counseling and experience as a child of divorce are often more helpful to his clients than his legal skills. Change is never easy. A divorce, for example, can cause stress in a household in many different ways a parent may not have foreseen, especially on children. Gerry aims to help his clients be their best throughout the process, so they can do what needs to be done for their children.
